This is Viraj Khatavkar, a web developer by profession and a trader by necessity!
I became active in stock markets at the end of the 2017 bull market. I typically started dwindling into stocks by buying a lot of "value" and "quality" stocks. I was a big fan of Warren Buffet and his investment style. I was also a big fan of the "buy and hold" strategy.
Eventually, I got exposed to other virtues of markets like "momentum" and "trend following".
Slowly, I started to realize that the "buy and hold" strategy is not the only way to make money. I basically want to make a ton of money in life, without guilt! Trading or investing didn't matter as long as I was making money.
Currently, I trade options, futures, and stocks. Momentum is my trading slash investing exposure to the markets. Futures and Options is a way to leverage my capital in a risk-defined way.
Tomorrow I might trade something else. I am not married to any strategy or asset class. I am married to making money.
Here are a few unwritten trading rules that I follow:
- Don't marry a stock or a strategy.
- Don't be afraid to change your mind.
- Always be open to new ideas.
- Discard strategies ruthlessly if they don't work.
- Keep on finding new avenues to make money outside of markets.
- Always meet new people with a curious mind.
